Because metal is a genre that often takes itself oh-so-seriously (read: black metal of any kind) I often find myself gravitating towards heavy bands that can smartly take their music and their message to a comically over-the-top place while still managing to gloriously wail away on their instruments with calculated precision. Needless to say, Chicago thrashers Oozing Wound are definitely one of those bands.

One stand-out track from their newest album, Earth Suck, is "Hippie Speedball". Lyrically the song would resonate with anyone who has had experience with addictive behavior, as the narrator describes how he can't get through an average, mind-numbing work day without a hit.

But visually, as you can see from our U.S. exclusive video premiere below, goes very over the top with overwhelming amounts of shredding, all the more amplified in dramatic black and white. Peep the video now and snag a copy of Earth Suck HERE.
