Video Debut: Cleric - "Through the Starless Abyss"

Dallas-based Cleric have already teased us with some uncompromising death metal from their forthcoming album Gratum Inferno (stream it here), and now we are proud to premiere the video for their song “Through the Starless Abyss.” It’s thick, ugly, and ripping, and Cleric knows when to blast and when to cruise, so to speak. Despite having a pretty old-school Satan-worshipping formula, Cleric keeps it fresh — chalk it up to good songwriting.

Given this year’s wildfire season, I hope this wasn’t filmed out west. Watch the no-frills “Through the Starless Abyss” above.

Gratum Inferno is out on Tofu Carnage (hell yeah) on September 26 and is available on limited vinyl in “Piss Yellow with Blood Red and Milky Clear Splatter.” Yuck.
