Vessel of Iniquity Stands in "The Doorway" to Despair (Full Album Stream)

A. White’s mammoth Vessel of Iniquity project has proven itself in the past to be its own vehicle of chaos and despair, an industrial war-metal-like fount of noise and disarray built to terrify and dazzle listeners with its barely-hanging-on songwriting and horrifying bedlam. But things change! I recall my first experiences with White’s music back in the mid-2000s, during which time he was very active (as SP White) under the names Uncertainty Principle and underground funeral doom supergroup The NULLL Collective — suffocating, mechanical funeral-and-drone doom metal was king during this time in his little corner of the Internet, and, though he would disappear for a time, White built quite the name for himself in the doom underground.

Why bring this up? Well, as the Vessel of Iniquity begins to fill (and A. White slowly resurrects Uncertainty Principle over time), we find the two beginning to converge, and a greater, doomed character begins to take hold on this chaotic project, leading to a duality of drum-machine and discord madness and slow, terrifying doom metal, both of which are poised to strike the listener to their core. Vessel of Iniquity continues its reign over the harsh and incoherent, the maddening and despaired, and upcoming album The Doorway is White’s finest work under this moniker to date.
