Veldune (mems. Gorguts, Hammers of Misfortune) Crafts Night Wandering Sounds With New Video (New Video Debut)

Veldune, guitarist Kevin Hufnagel’s (Gorguts, Vaura, Dysrhythmia et al) latest outing with singer Jamie Myers (Hammers of Misfortune, ex-Sabbath Assembly), reveals yet another side to this chameleonic, prolific musician. Taking influence from dark pop and even surf music, Hufnagel’s spidery, moody guitar work, especially when paired with Myers’ smooth croon, is exclusively night music, to be listened to while on an empty stretch of desert highway. Adventure is alluring, and Veldune’s music is specifically meant for night wanderings and their subsequent wanderlust. We all want a change of scenery, but only a blurred visage from within the safety of our car, and Veldune’s comforting music offers us distant memories of road trips long since passed, adventures now deferred. Watch a video for “The Night is for Dreamers” below.

From the artist:

Dreamers was the first song that Kevin and I worked on for Veldune. It set the tone for the musical journey we were about to embark upon. Lyrically I wanted to explore the space between sensuality, disorientation and excess, while sonically providing a soundtrack that conjured imagery cinematic in nature. The idea was to convey emotion from a realm of pure experience, and lean into the very thing that might destroy you.

Veldune is out now directly vie the band.
