Upcoming Metal Releases: 8/24/2014 – 8/30/2014

While this list isn’t much of a scroll, the cumulative amount of fans backing these outfits makes it one of our weightier slates. Opeth are the big swingers in that regard, crossing over to near-mainstream acclaim as one of the few groups your non-metalhead friends can probably name. But if we’re basing this strictly on ‘likes,’ Death Vomit aren’t far behind. Indeed, the Indonesian brutal borkers are also above one million Facebook clicks. Death Vomit. Metal, you’re the best sometimes. Keep naming your crews after post-Denny’s afflictions.

Among the other highlights are Bastard Sapling‘s big ol’ stack of riffs, Music Blues‘ soundtrack to sadness, Fördärv‘s bleak trvth, and Phobiatic grind n’ widdle. That said, any entry could be a winner this week. Again, you’ll get through this list in a jiffy, but at least it’s time well spent.

See something we missed? Goofs? Let us know in the comments. Plus, as always, feel free to post your own shopping lists. Happy digging.
