The industry’s sales algorithm has picked next week for the showcase showdown, so it’s time for another ‘tweener list. Although that’s definitely not a bad thing since it gives deserving artists their fair share of the spotlight. Chicago’s Novembers Doom and their deathly gloom are the ‘name’ here, but releases from Hungary’s OSDM buzzer Coffinborn, the balanced Danish death metal of Defilementory, and Orodruin shredder John Gallow are worth scrolling to find.

That said, the list is really short this week, so let’s issue a challenge: Know a band that hasn’t gotten enough press this year? Plug them into the comments. By Friday, let’s see how many killers we can catch in our nets.
