Upcoming Metal Releases: 6/8/2014 – 6/14/2014

These are the weeks we love to see. The slate is stacked higher than a game of Tetris played by a snake. Not only do we have quality efforts from enduring vets like Mayhem and Vader, but plenty of platters from up-and-coming pups. Well, ‘pups’ compared to the 30-plus year runs of the aforementioned. Experience aside, The Atlas Moth, Tombs, and Trap Them are a heck of a new school class, more than holding their own among the old guard.
If you scroll a little further, you’ll find Of Note is fuller than a Game of Thrones graveyard. Coprocephalic is a blast if brutal, slamming death is your bag. Elsewhere, Handshake Inc. continue their gold rush by conjoining Wake with Theories. And Mars Red Sky is a perfect companion for staring into the starry night.
Summer may officially be a couple weeks away. Metal, though, is already at peak heat.
NOTE: A few didn’t fit the confines of our list, however they’re too big to ignore. Anathema (modern rock), Arch Enemy (melodeath), Bloody Hammers (hard rock/doom), Equilibrium (folk metal/viking metal), Uriah Heep (rock), and Wretched (death metal) will all be released into the wild this week.
