Pestilence

North Americans will rejoice Tuesday, finally beholding tangible evidence of the bangers Europe has been wearing out for weeks. Pestilence‘s impressive resilience and Cronian‘s Borknager buddy-cuts carry the heaviest expectations if you’re of a certain age, but the docket is packed with plenty of other goodies like Endstille‘s rumble-krieg and Demonical rattling its OSDM manacles. Still, the United States shouldn’t feel slighted, equaling pound-for-pound the world’s output with selections such as the brainstem bruisers in Vastum. Finally, in fringe-y fare, kinda-grinders Drugs of Faith are no strangers to the veins of IO readers, while Weekend Nachos also cross the aisle to find continued metalhead success.

Though perhaps less-heralded, Of Note similarly isn’t hurting for quality. Brutal Truth vacations with Bastard Noise and splits ears with feedback modulators. Grieving Age grinds doom with familiar dISCIPLINE. Plus, Pentagram Chile and Satan’s Wrath wonderfully thrash through variations of their base inspirations. Both slates are a fine respite if you need to take a break from chipping the stone on your top ten list, Things I’ll Soon Forget.

Corrections: Glorior Belli‘s Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls and Vaura‘s The Missing, two albums we jumped the gun on, are also out in the wild this week. Both are worthy of your ten-high stack of Washingtons or a gram of your finest poutine-packed crack.

See something we missed? Goofs? Let us know in the comments. Plus, as always, feel free to post your own shopping lists. Happy digging.
