Undeath Its Time to Rise From the Grave

Undeath's Alex Jones Dissects "It's Time… To Rise from the Grave" (Track-by-Track Video Breakdown)

Undeath are a breath of rotting air in the death metal scene. This Rochester 5 piece play some of the most fun American death metal this side of the ‘90s. It’s Time… To Rise From The Grave is their second full length and it marks the addition of bassist Tommy Wall and guitarist Jared Welch, giving a little bit more muscle for Alex Jones and crew to flex on this second beastly foray. The album hasn’t changed too much of their approach, seeing as the overall length is the same as their debut Lesions of a Different Kind, but the stylistic changes are enough to get that head banging and maybe even that booty shaking.

Vocalist Alex Jones fought off death, decomposure, indigestion, and a trip to the gym to bring us a track-by-track breakdown of the album via the video below and he talks about a lot of what was said above, including a bowl of spaghetti, terrible taste in baseball teams and the overall shenanigans that Undeath take part in. The whole thing is an absolute blast with some very abrupt transitions—but Alex is such a pro, you wouldn’t even know it.

It’s Time… To Rise from the Grave released today via Prosthetic Records. (Note: We’ve sold out of our variant at the BV shop, but there’s still vinyl available on the band’s Bandcamp – you might want to move fast on that)
