On October 15, 1999, starting at 11 pm, Nicholas White was trapped in an elevator for 41 hours. Although a surveillance camera captured this, security guards didn’t notice. Above is footage of the entire time, greatly sped up. You see White fiddle with the buttons, try to escape out the top, and examine the contents of his wallet to kill time. His situation is Kafka-esque, most so when he opens the doors, only to be greeted by a wall. Sadly and understandably, he cracked from the experience.
