Premiere: Mutilation Rites – “Gravitational Collapse”
It has been two years since New York's Mutilation Rites released their full-length debut, Empyrean, to much critical acclaim. (I even chatted with guitarist/vocalist George Paul and drummer Justin Ennis about it for this site waaay back then.) FINALLY, in 2014, the band is bombarding our eardrums with new shrieks and blackened d-beat.
Titled Harbinger, the band's sophomore effort was recorded with Kevin Bernsten (TRIAC) at Developing Nations Studio in Baltimore and mastered by James Plotkin (Sunn O))), ISIS, Pelican). It's just as primordial as their first. For the first time, here's "Gravitational Collapse", what I consider to be one of the most aggressive tracks on the record.
Harbinger will be released on July 22nd (pre-order it HERE). East Coast and Midwest fans will get to experience the new music at the upcoming tour dates below, with George Paul's side project Hexer as support.
