Track Debut: Beautality's "Doppelganger"

London duo Beautality are doing gothic metal right. There’s not a lot of flowery harpsichord bullshit or sighs of ennui going on here, there’s just yearning, grasping, long-form atmosphere with a lot of darkness behind it. Like Triptykon and classic Moonspell, the band—vocalist/guitarist/bassist D.M Ravengarde and drummer Duke Machine manage to create a gloomy and sorrowful sound that rides on a wave of awesome riffs, keeping the listeners banging their heads and pumping their fists even through moments of intense grief and primal anguish.

Streaming below is “Doppelganger”, a track from their upcoming sophomore album Einfallen: A Tale ov Torment & Triumph, due out in March from Nordavind Records. Sixteen minutes long but never tiresome, the track is a convincing epic. You can pre-order the album, and you’ll get free shipping, unlimited streaming from the band’s Bandcamp, and a digital download, none of which will ease the pain inside.
