Today Is The Day Reissue "In The Eyes Of God"

Today Is The Day have been on a nostalgia kick lately. Not only are they touring extensively for the 25th anniversary of Temple Of The Morning Star, they are also reissuing 1999’s In The Eyes Of God with a new mastering job by Maor Appelbaum and Today Is The Day songwriter Steve Austin. It makes sense that Austin himself had a hand in the remaster, as it preserves the album’s character while also clarifying its details. The bass guitar, played by Bill Kelliher, who along with drummer Brann Dailor make up half of Mastodon, is far more vivid. This gives the record a thicker low-end, but it also highlights the interplay between Austin and Kelliher’s parts. The reissue also includes demo versions of each song on the album, giving an even clearer look at the band’s creative process.

You can stream three songs off of In The Eyes Of God, the opening title track and the lightning fast duo of “Possession” and “Spotting A Unicorn,” below. Also check out the remaining tour dates for their Temple Of The Morning Star anniversary tour, co-presented by Invisible Oranges. Preorder In The Eyes Of God here.
