The Path of Memory's Misery Will Last "A Thousand Days and Nights"

To start off: this is not a metal album made by a non-metal artist, so if your proclivities begin and end with “the metal,” feel free to check another feature on this site. As it has been made obvious, The Path of Memory is far, far from metal, instead creating a thick, catchy version of post-punk, something full of longing and loathing. On Hell is Other People, this mysterious, Sartrean artist wallows in the misery he feels for his surroundings. Listen to an exclusive premiere of “A Thousand Days and Nights” below.

Misery is the name of the game when it comes to music like The Path of Memory — this sole Swiss artist’s hatred toward mankind is channeled through rhythmic, doomed gothic rock, heralded by a smooth, velvety voice. The depression and hatred are both apparent here, even beyond the music with song titles like “I Tried and I Failed,” “It Hurts Me,” and “Locked Away” (how relevant). The despondence this artist feels is palpable, and even catchy, on this debut album, and even though it isn’t metal (gasp), it is worth a solid listen.

Hell is Other People releases June 19th on Iron Bonehead Productions.
