The Damnnation Lead Us Down the "Way of Perdition" (Video Debut)

With every release, The Damnnation have refined their extreme metal proclamations. Hailing from Brazil, a country vital to metal’s storied canon and one of the last true strongholds of appreciation for the genre, this young trio drew inspiration from the hallowed grounds of their homeland to fashion “Way of Perdition,” the first single, and self-titled track from their upcoming album, Way of Perdition. Renata Petralli’s beastly roar is somewhere between Max Cavalera and Angela Gossow–guttural with a Portuguese flair–and it easily tears through the band’s thrashing racket, which recalls old-school Sepultura’s in groove, and Sarcófago in atmosphere. The Damnnation don’t rely entirely on nostalgia however; throughout “Way of Perdition” it’s obvious the band has developed their own keen sense of melody, a facet that to be honest, was sorely lacking in the black-cum-death-cum-thrash metal of their predecessors. The Damnnation have spent the last couple years slowly turning heads in the metal underground, and if “Way of Perdition” is any indication, the time is soon approaching when all eyes will be on them. Listen to an exclusive stream of “Way of Perdition” below.

Way of Perdition releases May 6th on Soulseller Records.
