In our third and final installment of Take Over And Destroy’s behind-the-scenes series the band are putting the finishing touches on their self-titled release. A few final atmospheric guitar parts here, a small vocal punch-in there. It’s a common cliche that an artist will keeping tinkering with their work forever if you let them. But after a certain point any changes are going to be purely lateral; Tinkering for eternity might result in a different album, but not necessarily a better one.

The process of actually crossing that finish line can be an exhausting one. If you spend enough time cooped up with five other dudes while trying to figure out the perfect EQ for your snare drum, you’re bound to go a bit loony eventually. Making good music takes work and lots of it. Spending all of your mental and physical energy on realizing your vision can reduce your needs down to their raw essentials. Cheers to the boys in Take Over And Destroy for finishing the job and making it out alive.
