Striker Stand In The Fire Cover Art

Striker - Stand in the Fire (Album Premiere)

Canada’s Striker are releasing their fourth album, Stand In The Fire, on February 5th. We’ve spent some time with it, and let us assure you, it’s a blast of an album. Now, Striker’s alway been a fun band, but Stand goes to another level. Previous albums were fast and heavy US style power metal, and not far removed from bands like White Wizzard, Bullet, or Katana. Stand is a bit less so, and we’re ok with that.

“Out For Blood”, for instance, packs a saxophone solo that’s just great. Anyone heard something like that on a power metal record? I haven’t, but someone will pedantically tell me in the comments about that one Limb Music band’s song from 1995 on an EP that no one’s ever heard!

Many of the songs on Stand In The Fire feature choruses with a distinct glam/hair metal influence. “Too Late” and “The Iron Never Lies” are the best examples. We like it! It’s tastefully done and it totally works, cranking up Striker’s fun quotient even higher.

We’ve got a full stream of the album below. Avail yourselves of this chance to preview Stand In The Fire’s high fun quotient.
