Despite their clear southern rock leanings, Rwake was a sludge/doom band through and through. Now Rwake frontman CT has the ability to explore the music of his region with Iron Tongue, his new project. Iron Tongue, which features clean vocals from Christopher Terry, still shows remenants of Rwake, mostly in big riffs to puncuate otherwise Southern rock proceedings. The band is readying their new LP The Dogs Have Barked, The Birds Have Flown for release on May 28th via Neurot, and you can stream the track “Moon Unit” below. Educated guesses say that the song is not about Frank Zappa’s daughter.
