Rest In Peace, Riley Gale

Like the rest of the metal and hardcore community, we’re stunned and heartbroken by the news that Power Trip frontman Riley Gale has died.

Tributes have been pouring in to Riley from countless musicians, labels, festival organizers, venues, writers, photographers, and others, including Converge, Code Orange, Deafheaven, Touche Amore, Ice-T, Hatebreed, Thursday, La Dispute, Overkill, Kreator, Harms Way, Fucked Up, Trash Talk, Coheed & Cambria, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Every Time I Die, Stephen Brodsky, and so many more.

Since forming in 2008, Power Trip released two killer full-length albums (2013’s Manifest Decimation and 2017’s Nightmare Logic), as well as a few EPs, splits, standalone singles, demos, songs on compilations, and one live album. Much of their early non-album material is compiled on Opening Fire: 2008-2014.

As great as they were in the studio (and they were great), Power Trip were a band who demanded to be seen live. There’s nothing like being there, but BrooklynVegan just put together a compilation of live videos that show how incredible they were on stage.

We miss you, Riley. Power Trip forever.

Listen to most of Power Trip’s studio output, their live album, and watch some of that great live footage below…
