Ragana Unveil "Winter's Light Pt. 2" (Video Premiere)

Blackened metal duo Ragana are back with a new video, "Winter's Light Pt. 2," from their upcoming album Desolation’s Flower, out October 27 via The Flenser. Check it out with us first.

There are several things that make Ragana unique. The two band members alternate between drums, guitars, and vocals, and through it all, they channel raw emotion and deep trauma with every note they play. On “Winter's Light Pt. 2,” they play with folky elements and interweave them with hard-hitting, punky, melodic black metal that entrances the listener.

The band say that Desolation’s Flower channels "loss, rage, pain, and hope," and mentions nods to Ragna’s home base of the Pacific Northwest and California and the influence they take from bands like Mount Eerie and Wolves in the Throne Room. And there are elements of both of those bands. But Ragna are something new, a band that take elements of both of those groups but add in more psychedelic and eerie influences.

Desolation's Flower was engineered by Nicholas Wilbur at the Unknown Studios in Anacortes, Washington. Follow the band here.
