Punching Moses Live Short and Suffer

Punching Moses Stroll Through the Bloody Delights of the "Gore Bazaar" (Track Stream)

How's everyone's first week of the new year going? Have the crushing weight of all those things you put off last year caught up to you yet, or are they only looming in the distance like particularly ominous skyscrapers hewn out of pure anxiety? For myself, the answer is somehow both, and I'm in sore need of a palate cleanser already. Taken from their upcoming album Live Short and Suffer, Punching Moses's new single "Gore  Bazaar" is pretty much exactly the ticket: a disturbing romp through a twisted psyche that delivers one energizing riff after another in a zero-frills package.

The Cleveland crossover hardcore group establishes a fundamental, primeval connection with pure rock energy on the track--there's the d-beats and hoarse screams one might expect from hardcore, but also just an enormous amount of stomping swagger that turns every segment of the song into a fist-pumping frenzy. It's almost too fun of a track to match its subject matter (see the band's quote below), but the demented contrast only makes things more interesting. Stream it below.

The band adds:

Gore Bazaar is a narrow window into the mind of a serial killer who derives sexual pleasure in viewing the morbid results of his violent kills. Simple but horrific mutilation is considered art to this depraved individual.
