Pyschic Teens – HEX 1500×1500

Psychic Teens - "SICKO" (Song Premiere)

Pyschic Teens - HEX 1500x1500

For all the deep, dank, dark and rotten music I cover on here, I feel like we could use something a little more active and motivating ’round these parts. Granted, Philadelphia-based goth punk trio Psychic Teens dole out darkness in spades, their obscure hues reflect urban art clubs more than the strange romanticism which you might normally see on Invisible Oranges. On their upcoming album HEX, the Teens continue down the path they’ve previously paved, fusing no wave’s abrasion and apathy with punk’s rhythmic strength and early goth rock’s monotony. See “SICKO” – a slow-burning exercise in brawn, gradually filling the room with strange, noisy haze which enshrouds their pop backbone. Even under their dark veil, it’s obvious that Psychic Teens wants to elicit movement, maybe even dancing. I dare you to fight it.

HEX will be released by Hex Records on April 21st. Listen to “SICKO” below.
