Texas thrash and hardcore outfit Power Trip continue to gear up for their hotly-anticipated sophomore LP, Nightmare Logic. The band released a new song, "Executioner's Tax (Swing of the Axe)", which continues their Exodus-meets-Cro-Mags sound. No Curve balls here, just gritted teeth, palm muted chugs and a meaty shark attack guitar tone. The song functions as a steady, humming fist-bumper much like "Crossbreaker" from their debut, Manifest Decimation. Vocalist Riley Gale does tease a Randy Blythe-ish hellcat screech near the end of the track.

The song follows previous single "Firing Squad", which is a bit faster and more aggressive.
