Plague Bearer Crafts "Unholy Black Satanic War Metal" On New Single (Early Song Debut)

Stuff like Plague Bearer makes me feel like such a boomer. Remember when black metal was evil? Remember when war metal had riffs? Pepperidge Farm remembers, and so does this Washington band. On Plague Bearer’s new album Summoning Apocalyptic Devastation (Remember three-word album titles?), this evil, brutal band summons some apocalyptic and catchy riffwork. What I enjoy the most about tracks like album opener “Unholy Black Satanic War Metal” (Remember kickass song titles?), which is streaming below, are their memorability through simplicity. Black metal (and blackened death metal by proxy) doesn’t need to be fancied up to be good, and Plague Bearer’s adherence to the old, decrepit, and songwriting-forward is simply the best. Join me in remembering the glory days.

Summoning Apocalyptic Devastation releases March 3rd via Nameless Grave Records.
