Nubivagant Carries "The Wheel and the Universe" on Droning New Album (Full Album Stream)
Though musician Gionata “Thorns” Potenti is largely known as a drummer, having lent his talents to the likes of Blut aus Nord, Frostmoon Eclipse, and more, his capabilities go much further than the drum kit. Having quietly worked as Nubivagant for two albums now, Potenti’s capacity as a multi-instrumentalist, handling guitars, drums, bass, and vocals, is advanced. Taking a drone-oriented songwriting approach, with songs often rotating within the confines of a small riff bank, Nubivagant’s sound is more hypnotic than aggressive, centered around Potenti’s sung voice (chosen over black metal’s signature rasp) and his self-backing-band’s bolstering of the select tones he sings.
