AT THE GATES – THE NIGHTMARE OF BEING
(just-announced exclusive variant, limited to 300 copies, of anticipated new LP)

At The Gates are releasing the third album of their reunion era, their seventh overall, The Nightmare of Being. Vocalist Tomas Lindberg describes it as “very dark,” saying, “It still sounds like At The Gates, 100 percent. CIRCLE JERKS – GROUP SEX
(deluxe edition of the punk classic on splatter vinyl, with lots of extras)

Circle Jerks’ debut album, Group Sex, is a classic of early LA punk — loud, fast and messy in all the right ways, and is slammed with great songs like ‘Deny Everything,’ ‘Operation,’ ‘Live Fast Die Young’ and more.” This deluxe, 40th anniversary edition, pressed to splatter vinyl, includes a remastered version of the original album, five additional songs recorded at a 1980 rehearsal, a 20-page booklet featuring rare and unreleased photos, flyers, and “behind the scene stories” by Tony Hawk, Mike Patton, Shepard Fairey, Ian MacKaye, Lars Frederiksen, Mike Ness, Brett Gurewitz, and more. Pre-orders also come with a hand-numbered 24-page fanzine, a reproduction of the one the band printed in 1980 before the album was released. ROTTING CHRIST RECORDS
(new limited edition colored vinyl repressings)

Rotting Christ’s ninth album, 2007’s Theogonia, and their tenth, 2010’s Aealo, have been pressed to limited edition neon orange and coke bottle green vinyl, respectively, for these limited edition versions. We called Aealo “neither black metal nor gothic metal; it is metal. The band firms up its attack and leaves no ends hanging. Every note has a purpose: to go to war. Almost every song is about being a warrior. But the record is neither jingoistic nor political. Rather, it appropriates military ideals — strength, honor, discipline — for civilian ends. All those 300, Spartacus, and boot camp workouts finally have a soundtrack.” [GET THEM]

CANNIBAL CORPSE – VIOLENCE UNIMAGINED

BARONESS – GOLD AND GREY

As Langdon wrote in an in-depth review, “We see Baroness not only at their most adventurous in terms of new ideas but most conclusive in terms of cataloging old ideas.
