Vattnet Viskar's home in cold and wooded New England provided a clear influence on their bleak and doomy self-titled debut EP, which features  slow drones that darkly express emotions of loss and despair. Put another way: If Robert Frost had been born about 100 years later and was into metal, this would be his favorite band.

The EP will be released to the poor, tired, huddled masses via Broken Limbs Recordings on March 15, but until then we can satiate your appetite for gloom with this brand-new track, "Barren Earth".

And, to get even more Vattnet Viskar in your blackened-doom diet, check out some of their upcoming tour dates below; they may be bringing their depressing doldrums to your hometown.
