Hells Headbangers are on a tear, churning out quality metal the way it's meant to be: raw, ugly, and blasphemous. The latest from The Royal Arch Blaspheme continues the grand tradition and lives up to its lineage. We get primitive, sludgy black metal from John Gelso (of Profanatica) and N. Imperial (of Krieg, Twilight, and a million more), and we get ferocious tirades against Christianity with song titles like "When the Cruel Nails Pierced Thy Tender Hands and Feet".

It's a straight black metal 'banger. Nothing fancy, no extraneous crap. But underneath the surface filth, the songs show signs of careful construction. Tempos shift to serve the songs, and the bass is audible enough to keep things barreling forward. The final track, "Broken Word of God", slows things down and just kills. II comes out one week from today, on Tuesday, July 31st. We'll be streaming the album right up until the release date.
