IO Album Giveaway: Dragonforce's "The Power Within"

Just like fine wine and food, music is best experienced when paired properly. White wine complements poultry or fish. Epic power-metallers Dragonforce, I’ve found, go best with video games. Street-Jammer told us how Immortal enhances Skyrim, but it seems to me that Dragonforce most enhances Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. (I have a lot of research to back up this theorem, i.e., countless hours in college watching my dude friends play this game, to this music, while I slugged back PBR’s on a futon.)

Debuting next Tuesday, April 17, The Power Within is the band’s fifth studio album and contains tracks such as “Heart of the Storm” and “Last Fallen World”, which has been dubbed by the band as Dragonforce’s “most extreme song so far.”

And, if you also happen to be a fan of Huntress, Dragonforce will be touring with them throughout April and May. Tour dates listed below.

April 21 – Worcester, MA @ The Palladium
April 22 – New York, NY @ Gramercy Theatre
April 23 – Philadelphia, PA @ Theatre of the Living Arts
April 25 – Montreal, QC @ Le National
April 26 – London, ON @ London Music Hall
April 27 – Milwaukee, WI @ The Rave

May 6 – Portland, OR @ Hawthorne Theater

For your chance to win this grandiose record, tell us in the comments below what metal song most personifies “epic” to you (anyone answering Faith No More’s “Epic” will be immediately disqualified). This contest will end at midnight on April 19th. You must have a mailing address in the U.S. or Canada to enter; the winner will be contacted via email. May the most epic song win!
