Horna - "Hurmos"

Loosely translated from Finnish, “Hurmos” means ecstasy. If this song is Horna mainman Shatraug’s idea of bliss, I’d hate to see his idea of torment.

Shatraug doesn’t get the credit he deserves as one of the most prolific songwriters in metal as a member of Sargeist and Behexen as well as Horna. The man releases at least a couple tracks a year, and most of them are furious, blasting 90’s style black metal.

“Hurmos” is a little different. after opening with a martial drumbeat the song maintains a fist-pumping mid-tempo churn throughout. It’s one of the calmer songs on Horna’s upcoming ninth album, Hengen Tulet. Raise your fists below.
