Havok - "Hang 'Em High"

The mid-00’s re-thrash wave, by and large, produced mediocre bands. Havok were not one of those bands. Never straying too far from the always-relevant tonal palate of Rust in Peace, albeit with more ferocious vocals and excellent bass fills, the band’s last two releases, Time is Up and Unnatural Selection were fierce in the way only great thrash is.
After a long break, Havok finally have a new record, Conformicide, coming out on March 10 via Century Media (pre order here), and the preview track, “Hang ‘Em High”, doubles down on the band’s always stellar bass work. For those still riding the wave of dissent from the previous weekend’s historic Women’s March may appreciate the song’s sentiment as well.
