This morning the WW2-themed death metal band Hail of Bullets announced their breakup via Facebook.

The announcement follows the departure of vocalist Martin Van Drunen, who continues to record in Apshyx and is preparing to tour the United States. The band played last year's Maryland Deathfest with Benediction and Bolt Thrower vocalist David Ingram behind the microphone. It was my favorite set of that festival.

This is sad, but not surprising, and at least Hail of Bullets left us three essentially perfect albums to enjoy. Stream them below. for our future post-Bolt Thrower fix of war-themed death metal, at least there's Memoriam, whose new album is out next week.
