Grinning God Fires an "Arrow of Wrath" (New Video Debut)

Grinning God‘s Sardónios was a surprising release–a supposed side project of mysteriously moody post-punk band Rope Sect frontman Inmesher, here known as Sardonicus. Initially released on limited cassette on the band’s on Lowland Fires label, Belgian label Phantom Lure is set to reissue the Sardónios EP on vinyl this coming June, complete with two bonus tracks, one of which (“Arrow of Wrath”) is streaming below. In the “Arrow of Wrath” video, a sinister figure moves slowly through a variety of uncomfortable poses, truly adding to Grinning God’s temperamental music in an unexpected way. Though the Sardónios EP approaches Rope Sect’s sound, which is expected given Sardonicus’ uniquely smooth voice, there is a certain black metal influence that creeps in on this spooky release in unforeseen ways.

The vinyl edition of Sardónios releases this June on Phantom Lure.
