Gorod Brought Hypnotic Technical Death Metal to LA (4/3/2022, Photos)
French progressive technical death metal wizards Gorod recently finished a tour through the US, bringing their new record The Orb stateside. Accompanied by Cognitive, Summoning the Lich, and Flub, the tour package combined all manners of annihilating and introspective heavy metal. Their stop at LA was at 1720, and included openers Outside the Living as well.
We wrote about The Orb recently, noting it “opts for storytelling over showing off, and for unusual time signatures and unpredictable pacing over sheer blistering speed. It’s digestible and entertaining, perhaps partially due to the killer basslines and catchy songwriting, but the inventive guitar playing is noteworthy too.”
