Fulci - Exhumed Information

Fulci, Horror-Obsessed Death Metallers, Hear the "Voices" of the Dead (Video Premiere)

Fulci wear their horror movie influences quite clearly on their sleeves. Exhumed Information, the latest album from these Italian death metal purveyors, dropped this summer and is a grisly love letter to Italian horror cinema. Today, we’re unveiling their music video for the track “Voices,” which puts this obsession on display. On “Voices,” frightening imagery weaves in and out of the death metal riffs—which can be fast and flesh ripping, or fade into the atmosphere accompanied by some synth work that taps into the inspiration of the band’s namesake, Lucio Fulci. In the video, a beautiful nude woman accompanied by a skull permeates a sense of evil and the occult, but it also makes the listener want to be a part of the vile acts that are taking place throughout the video. The video’s events inflict various acts on the dead, from injections with chemicals, creating zombies, or disembowelment by some very intrigued surgeons who want nothing more than to inflict pain upon their unsuspecting victims. Overall, the music video does a nice job of properly marrying the music to video form, and does so in short order. Do you focus on the gore, or do you focus on the erotic and dark appeal of the disrobed? That’s a question for yourself and for Fulci themselves.

Exhumed Information released July 23rd via Time to Kill Records – pre-order some new limited edition tape + vinyl here.
