Elder Omens

Elder recently announced their new album Omens (due April 24th via Armageddon Shop in the US and Stickman in Europe), and now they’ve shared the first single “Embers.” It clocks in at nearly 11 minutes and it finds Elder continuing to trek down the path of 1970s progressive hard rock, with unexpected twists and turns, expansive guitar solos, and various instrumental passages and segues that all build up to something grander than the sum of their parts. It’s very throwback, but Elder make it sound fresh, and when this song really gets going, it’s the kind of thing you can fully lose yourself in. Listen below.

As mentioned, Elder are touring with Bask, including a Brooklyn show on May 6th at Elsewhere Hall (tickets). They also play the Psycho Swim pre-party at Psycho Las Vegas. All dates are listed below.
