dai-ichi Shows Us "Where The Ivy Grows" (New Song Debut)

Death is coming. Death is certain. dai-ichi will make sure of it.

From parts unknown, raw black metal duo dai-ichi dazzled with their eponymous 2019 debut and the Virgin Womb of Eternal Black Terror split with Lamp of Murmuur. Unlike the rest of the raw black metal scene, dai-ichi doesn’t make quick work at a high quantity, rather they really take their time crafting infectious riffs and dialing in that perfect, crispy tone. It’s all very meticulous, and on their upcoming second album, also titled dai-ichi, dai-ichi perfects the raw black metal formula. dai-ichi keeps it simple, stupid, with effective, lean songwriting and a feral spirit. On “Where the Ivy Grows,” which is streaming ahead of dai-ichi‘s February digital release below, dai-ichi’s power in riffcraft is made abundantly known, be it through punky blackened stomp or a more thoughtful, droning melodic passage. It’s all here, every element needed for perfect raw black metal, and dai-ichi once again emerges first and victorious.

dai-ichi releases on cassette and vinyl this Spring via Crown and Throne Ltd..
