Crossed Hearts - Forcefed Perspective

Crossed Hearts Are "Ruminating" On Death's Looming Presence (Video Premiere)

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, and boasting a wonderful old-school aesthetic, melodic heavy metal group Crossed Hearts are a welcome return to metal’s past. Today, we’re premiering the video for “Ruminating,” off their new album Forced Perspective – it’s due out this Friday on Church Recordings. Starting slow with an ominous radio voiceover, things get bloody when the bus driver meets his demise via a switch blade, a somber guitar line slicing into the fray as well. We then meet the band on stage as powerful front woman Carlee Jackson joins in with her raspy and soulful vocals, juxtaposed wonderfully against a wall of melodic guitar riffs. Each slain band member appears on stage bearing the wounds of their concealed assailant.

Solos abound as the video picks up speed: another life is about to be taken by the assassin, as the guitar dials turn up to blow out the speakers and fry the next man up. Death abounds both musically and visually: before the video ends everyone but Carlee meets their doom, killer included. The video ends with what appears to be a sequel: a deadly street fight. Until next time, Crossed Hearts will remain heavy and deadly all the same.

Forced Perspective releases July 7th via Church Recordings.
