Cara Neir Battles "Damnation'"s End-Of-Level Boss (Video Debut)
Cara Neir‘s chameleonic existence is no mystery: multi-instrumentalist Garry Brents and vocalist Chris Francis are restless, and from that restlessness comes immense creativity. Though rooted in a dark hardcore (and sometimes black metal) sound, this Texas duo’s many limbs grasp elements of post-rock, emo, electronica, and video game music, the latter being the focal point of their latest album, Phase Out. A fully conceptualized album, Phase Out is more than just music, as Brents and Francis find themselves injected into a video game-esque plot. [Read our Phase Out review here.]
In a new video made by artist Răzvan Constantin, Brents (a mage) and Francis (a paladin) fight their way through a dungeon, complete with magic spells and boss battles. Watch the new video for “Damnation” below.
