Birdflesh - Sickness in the North

Birdflesh Triggers a Bloody "Chainsaw Frenzy" (Video Premiere)

Grind weirdos rejoice; Birdflesh are back with their latest album, Sickness in the North, out April 21 via Everlasting Spew Records. Check out the video for “Chainsaw Frenzy” from the record here. As an added bonus, the song has Exhumed cameos.

The Scandinavian gore fiends are back with a predictably stacked album of 23 singles. Initially formed in 1992, and somehow still going strong, this song is just what we hoped new Birdflesh would sound like. Thrashy and fun as ever, this song is super catchy despite the aggressive tempo. [Editor’s Note: Chain-saw-fren-zy!]

The band have four albums and numerous demos, splits, and EPs under their belt, and Sickness in the North shows they still have “it.” Does this release mean they’ll also be returning to touring and the festival circuit? We sure hope so.

”’Chainsaw Frenzy’ is a song about chopping people in half, boiling them in oil, and feeding them to themselves, if they’ve earned it,” the band say. “Matt and Dylan from Exhumed forced themselves to do some guest appearances just because they love us, and, of course, we were happy to help them make their dream come true. Let’s frenzy!”
