Video : Church of Misery - "El Padrino" from MDF The Movie III

In the most recent example of art imitating life, Japanese Sabbathy stoner-doom favorites Church of Misery released a video of one of their songs from their new album, Thy Kingdom Scum, called “Brother Bishop (Gary Heidnik)”. Heidnik kept women captive in his Philly basement . . . Yeah. Creepy subject matter, but awesome songs done only in the way that this band can . . . their renowned obsession with serial killers gives way only to their dedication to fuzzed out warped doom with a hard edge.

Thy Kingdom Scum, their fourth full-length due on Metal Blade, is set to release on May 27. It was written following the departure of Yoshiaki Negishi, after the other band members, Tatus Mikami, Junji Narita, and Ikume Kawabe, contacted previous vocalist Hideki Fukasawa about returning. The band added a new guitarist, too, Ikuma Kawabe (ex-Dhidalah).

One of the clear highlights from Maryland Deathfest 2012 was the appearance of Church of Misery, an appearance that was immortalized on video in the new MDF III film. Check out a live video of “El Padrino” from Houses of the Unholy below and order your copy at Handshake Inc.
