Ulsect - "Our Trivial Toil" (Song Premiere)

ulsect

The huge, black circle on the cover of Ulsect‘s upcoming self titled debut suggests a kind of impenetrability. This kind of dissonant and technical death metal doesn’t lend itself to easy comprehension. Let it become background music and it won’t stick. Pay close attention to details, and there’s much to explore. It’s more accessible than the aesthetic suggests at first. “Our Trivial Toil” is pleasantly rhythmic, perhaps a holdover from bassist Dennis Aarts’s time in djent act Textures. In the same song, though, guitarist Joris Bonis and drummer Jasper Barendregt from Dodecahedron assure that dissonance remains.

Ulsect is out on May 12 via season of mist. Pre roder it here. Follow Ulsect on Facebook.
