An unholy racket is always a plus in underground music, and Australia’s Destruktor certain brings that in spades. But what makes the band truly awesome is their strong thrash backbone thereon. Even while creating maelstroms of drums and bellows, Destruktor make the riff the most important part of their sound, so that even their most ruthless material draws the listener in and gets their head moving. This band has earned its Mispelling With A ‘K’.
“Besieged” is the perfect example of that talent. Insane and murderous, yes, but also full of atmosphere and attitude, channeling a decent dose of biker violence along with its demonic mayhem. Fans of Impiety, King’s Evil, and Wormrot will all find something to drool over here.
