Welcome back to our weekly series of behind-the-scenes vlogs leading up to the release of Take Over And Destroy‘s debut album, out via Prosthetic Records on October 7. In this week’s edition the band have moved on from basic tracking to the more heady and elusive process of recording backing vocals and lead guitar. This can often be a pretty thankless task. You can spend hours arranging the perfect four-part vocal harmony that will sit comfortably in the back of the mix and likely get glossed over by all but the most passionate listeners. Still, these kinds of subtle details can elevate a good record to a great one. Attention to detail and hard work can change a standard recording to one that has atmosphere and mood. This stage also rewards taking chances and going out on a limb. This is where getting really passionate about an outrageous tremolo effect, like Take Over And Destroy do in this clip, can lead to a creative epiphany.
