Entrails - "Serial Murder (Death Squad)"

Swedish death metal outfit Entrails reliably put out great music. They’ve released one record every other year since 2010 when the band reformed, and each of them, from Tales from the Morgue through 2015’s Obliteration admirably recaptures the early-90’s Swedish death metal spark. Far from an imitation, Entrails were part of the Swedish class of 1990, but waited nearly twenty years to release any music.

“Serial Murder (Death Squad)”, taken from their upcoming World Inferno, holds no surprises. This style resists innovation. Like a crocodile or shark, it can withstand massive changes in the climate without fundamentally altering any of its signature components: punk beats, buzzing guitars, wretched vocals. The megalodon may be extinct but Entrails is a great white. Years later it’s still unsafe to take a swim.

Guitarist Jimmy Lundqvist has this to say about the song:

“Alright… It’s about time to unleash our next beast called ‘Serial Murder (Death Squad)’ – that means you should roll up your sleeves, loosen up your ponytail and get in the mood with a proper beer and prepare yourself for a trip among serial murders. The Death Squad awaits you!”

World Inferno will be released on June 16 via Metal Blade records. Order it here. Follow Entrails on Facebook.
