Early accounts of Watain‘s new LP The Wild Hunt say that the band seems to be grasping toward wider success and shying away from much of the ugliness that marked their early triumphs. The second single seems to confirm that belief; the track forgoes any blasting for a mid-paced stomp and heavy melodicism, a far cry from the band that reared its ugly, rotting head close to fifteen years ago. Stream the new track “The Child Must Die” and look for the LP via Century Media on August 20th.
