I’ll be the first to claim ignorance.
Outside of hearing the name, I had no idea of the existence of Pentagram from Chile before their appearance at Maryland Deathfest 2012. Happy accidents in music are what I live for and thankfully the band’s live show was nothing less than mesmerizing, chockful of wicked black thrash riffs and furious vocals that reminded me of Al Jourgenson but without all of the heavy vocal processing.
After multiple splits, demos, and live recordings, Pentagram is finally going legit with a new album, their first LP of studio tracks since forming in 1985! The LP, titled The Malefice, will see release on September 6th via Cyclone Empire and features the title track (originally featured on an older demo) and “La Fiura”, both of which are streaming below.
