Deafheaven – “Dream House”
It never fails to amaze me that NPR premiers such a wide variety of metal bands. On May 1, Deafheaven unveiled this new song, “Dream House”, via NPR. The track is the opener of the band’s forthcoming album, Sunbather, which is due out on June 11th via Deathwish Inc.

Dispirit – “All Paths End the Same”
Is black metal a resignation to the sameness of all life (we all die) or a celebration of the arcane connection we all have with life and death (we all die)? You decide. Dispirit captures this dichotomy better than many black metal bands. A new Dispirit demo tape will soon be distributed by Blastbeat Mailmurder/Productions.

Jex Thoth – “Keep Your Weeds”
Smoke it or keep it, Jex doesn’t care. This song is from the forthcoming full-length Blood Moon Rise and is more of the doom psychedelia we’ve come to love from her. We’ve been waiting for a new album for a while, and this one promises to be good.

The Ruins of Beverast – “Malefica
Check out “Malefica”, taken from the full-length Blood Vaults (The Blazing Gospel Of Heinrich Kramer) to be released by Ván Records. This track is a bit more subdued than what ex-Nagelfar member Alexander von Meilenwald has produced before, but it’s by no means bad.

Mumakil – “Wrong Turn”
Yes, grindcore can be fun, as Mumakil have proved with their new song, “Wrong Turn”. North American fans will have to wait until June 25 for the new album, Flies Will Starve but you can pre-order that shit now at Relapse.

Kylesa – “We’re Taking This”
Oh Kylesa, how you’ve changed. Still, it’s hard not to find things to like about you. Laura Pleasants plays bass in this video, presumably because at that time Kylesa still did not have a full-time bassist, and it’s full of uncompromising riffs and sludgy psychedelia. Ultraviolet is due out from Season of Mist on May 28 (in North America) or May 24 elsewhere.

Coliseum – “Bad Will”
Coliseum are about to release their fourth full-length album Sister Faith on April 30th. They’ve already let us preview a couple of songs from it, including this one, “Bad Will”. Watch the video to see the hardcore vets perform a guerrilla show in the middle of a busy neighborhood that ends with them being arrested.

Iron Man – Album Teaser
All we get is a video teaser for Iron Man’s new album, South of the Earth due out “soon”. As you might guess from the band’s name, they’re heavily influenced by Black Sabbath, and this teaser gives us a tiny taste of that, but leaves us with too little to judge the final product.
