Rev. Jim Forrester, 43, bass player for Baltimore heavy rockers Foghound and Serpents of Secrecy, was gunned down Monday night outside of the Baltimore Tattoo Museum, where he was an employee. Reportedly, he was standing outside of the shop talking to his wife on the phone who heard the struggle that preceded Forrester being shot in the chest. He later passed away at Johns Hopkins Hospital. There are currently no suspects.

Over the past year, Forrester had fought through a myriad of health issues, including a blood clot in his liver that left him weakened. Despite this, he’d made a triumphant return to the stage in June at Maryland Doomfest.

Two benefit shows and a GoFundMe campaign have been established to help Jim’s family deal with his final expenses. Links to all are below, along with a report from WBALTV in Baltimore.
