Per the comment about Chaos A.D. in my last piece, allow me to clarify that I adore Arise, the album that made me fall in love with Sepultura in the first place. There’s no question that this album jams from start to finish, but its centerpiece is the complex, dynamic epic “Desperate Cry”. This “Riffage” focuses on a note-for-note transcription of Sepultura’s magnum opus. Sheet music, just like a good script, denudes artistic intent, so I’ll forego analysis this time. However, I will mention that the bridge @ 3:54 is one of my favorite metal moments of all time. Enjoy.
